What if somewhere right now someone is conducting the Turing test to an android with artificial intelligence, just like in the movie Ex Machina? How far away are we really from having robots perform tasks for us in our everyday life? And when will they start to form thoughts of their own? Personal computers and smartphones have allready changed our lifestyles. After the information age, intelligent robots may be the next thing that will change our lives again. The “robot society” could emerge in the very near future. Are you ready?

Ideas about artificial or mechanical human beings were conceived by the Greeks and the Chinese more than two thousand years ago. Since then, this which we call an android has always been the iconic concept of a robot – a synthetic organism designed to look and act like a human. Until recently, androids have largely remained within the domain of science fiction, frequently seen in film and television. However, advancements in robot technology have allowed the design of functional and realistic humanoid robots.
